I-ACT School of Colon Hydrotherapy Australasia

Become a colon hydrotherapist

Discover a new career, or add a profitable, in-demand service to your existing practice, by becoming an I-ACT certified colon hydrotherapist. A growing profession that supports health and wellbeing naturally and effectively, taught by Australia's only LIBBE-certified instructors.

The profession

A rewarding, in-demand career

Colon hydrotherapy is the infusion of warm, purified and temperature-regulated water into the large intestine. The waste is hydrated and softened, then released through natural peristalsis, repeated several times during a session.

There are two professional methods of administering colon hydrotherapy, the open and closed systems. The International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy (I-ACT) represents both, and the method a therapist uses is their personal choice. Our school teaches the open device, the gravity-fed system that infuses temperature-regulated water through a pencil-thin tube the client self-inserts in private, after a consultation and instructions from a certified therapist.

Modern colon hydrotherapy uses registered equipment operated by certified personnel. The procedure is private, safe and effective when standard operating procedures and guidelines are followed, and it is becoming increasingly popular with health professionals, including integrative doctors.

Why it matters

What colon hydrotherapy may support

Colon hydrotherapy is not a cure-all, but as a practitioner you will learn how it may help the body restore balance and support a wide range of wellbeing concerns, including:

  • Constipation relief
  • Bloating and gas
  • Poor digestion
  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Low immunity and low energy
  • Skin conditions
  • Headaches and backaches
  • Irritability and low mood
  • Difficulty with weight management
  • Distended abdomen
  • General detox and wellbeing
  • Support for the gut and brain connection

Colon hydrotherapy is a complementary wellness therapy and is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
